This weekend's films

[Kahnee]

First up, The Exorcism Of Emily Rose. Obviously couldn't decide if it was a legal drama or a supernatural thriller, so did both badly rather than one well. Some great performances (especially by Laura Linney as the lawyer and Tom Wilkinson as the priest), but still a waste of two hours.

 

What was needed after that was a good comedy. Instead, we watched Whoops Apocolypse. A Comic Strip sketch stretched too far, and it got flimsier and flimsier as the film bore on (not a spelling mistake)

 

Still, on the upside, we had Brazil to look forward to. Which turned out to be a huge frickin' disappointment. Thought this was supposed to be one of TG's best? Gave up after an hour as I was losing the will to live, and the second half would have had me sticking my head in the oven.

 

Best film of the weekend was the remake of Dawn Of The Dead, which says everything about the other three
