Celebrity Liverpool Fan

Just picked up Empire today and theres a big interview with Billy Bob Thornton. Turns out he was at Anfield to see us beat Juventus the other year, not a big fan of the food though apparently.

Empire: Is it true you're a big Liverpool fan?

Thornton: Yeah, of the soccer team and the place. I love Liverpool.

Empire: How come.

Thornton: Our band played there on tour. We played The Cavern and I got to meet Gerry Marsden of Gerry & The Pacemakers. I hung out with him and his family, watched a soccer match between Liverpool and Juventus. Then Gerry and his family and friends came to our show afterwards. I found Liverpool to be the kind of place I grew up in, a real working class environment where people will say hello to you on the street. The food is as s***ty as anything I've ever had. I mean, I ate a piece of fish and I nearly puked right there. But apart from that, I love the town. They're my kind of people. I was always a fan of Liverpool because it was the British invasion, The Beatles, The Stones, The Kinks, that got me into music.
