cheap rail travel

article in the Guardian yesterday about cheap rail travel - apparantly buying a seson ticket for any journey gets you a 34% discount on all journies and an upgrade to first class for just £5 extra. You can buy a season ticket for just £116 (for the journey between two rural stations on the Isle Of Wight) but that still makes the discounts applicable on all other rail journies. Brilliant idea if you do a lot of rail travel.

 

I wonder how much of a rush thaere has been on sales of those season tickets in the last 24 hours.
