Setanta, and the increasing costs of following your favourite sports

Despite paying Sky more than £50 a month, the content available is reducing all the time. Following on from Italian Football's move from Bravo (included for no extra cash on SKY) to Setanta, the US PGA tour has now gone there too

So, anyone who used to like flicking over to see how the euro boys were doing against tiger and co on a weekly basis.......it'll now cost you an extra £15 a month, as you'll need to subscribe to Setanta.

Think I'll stick to the website updating scoreboard for a couple of weeks to see if I can cope without my fix of top quality golf (rarely available on sky's euro tour coverage, except for about 1 decent tournament a month, tops).

This also raises the question of what happens from August, with Setanta having purchased 40+ games I think for the Premiership ? Will they be available on their current channel selection for this £15 monthly subscription, or are they likely to launch a premium pay per view channel, especially for the premier league stuff ??

All in all, it's just ridiculous now, and I must admit I'm teetering on the edge of ditching the lot. To have the full sky package, plus HD, plus extra box, plus setanta would be approx £90 to £100 a month - no chance of me paying that for TV. What really annoys me is that if you want this stuff, then you want it al, and the total cost is now just extortionate. There's no point paying part of the cash and having a partial choice in my view - if you can't have access to everything, then you may aswell cut your losses and f*** the lot off .
