How to get the phone and deal you want

Phoned Orange a week ago to ask for my PAC number - unsurprisingly, they offered me everything I wanted to make me stay.

Took them four days to get the phone to me, despite people promising (twice) it would be with me "tomorrow".

Take phone out of box, part of the case falls off. It then takes me 40 minutes, and four different people, to get them to agree that I wasn't going to wait several days for their plastic bag to arrive so I could send it back, nor was I cancelling my upgrade and starting again.

Finally, on Saturday evening, an inarticulate gimp pitched up with my new phone - and then almost drove off with my battery (it seems replacement phones don't have them...)
