Eamon De Valera

The other night, while VERY drunk, I friend of mine (from Westmeath) was railing against De Valera for something he supposedly said (about the Easter Rising?) in 1916.

 

Does anyone know what this was? (or was supposedly?) Couldn't get much sense out of him (nor him out of me, I expect)
