Does anyone think this will be resolved in our lifetimes (Obviously not in Murphs ;) )?

How are things there at present? Is the situation any better or worse than it was..?

My girlfriend recently went to Belfast and was talking to a few friends she's known for years and they said that the older generation wanted to keep it going - but by and large the kids were fed up with the whole thing and more mixing was going on between them. Her friend said not too long ago - you'd get your windows done and your front door kicked in if they found out you were a Catholic with a Proddie or vice-versa.. But now things are starting to finally settle down..

How true is the above - are things settling down - or was it never as bad as mentioned above? - or is it a point of view - or where you live that determines what you think about the current situation?

As I've never been there - but I've always wanted to go - would you recommend visiting the place?

Finally will the Irish, the Northern Irish and the British ever finally lay this to rest as things stand - or would other measures need to be taken for it to be acceptable to all parties?
