Just read some things about Liverpool I didn't know about. News to anyone else?

 

1. A Mr Brodie of Liverpool invented goal nets in 1890.

2. 200 years ago 40 percent of the WORLD's trade passed through Liverpool docks.

3. Mid-16th century, population of Liverpool was around 500. In 1931 it reached 855,688 (!)

Now it's around half that.

4. Liverpool has more than 2,500 listed buildings, which is more than any city other than London.

 

This was given out because Liverpool's status as a World Heritage Site is under threat. Apparently.
