Any car mechanics/enthusiasts out there

I have a problem with my car. It starts fine but as the engine fires up it is followed by a kind of whirring/grinding noise for half a second.

 

Its still under warrenty with the garage i bought it from but would like to make sure he corrects the problem properly. Presuming it is to do with the starter? Its an Audi A3.
