Its like all our yesterdays, keep looking at that thread to see whats added to it, no wonder it has been viewed over 10,000 times.

Who would have thought 30 - 35 years ago we'd be talking to the same people on the interweb.

I was at that Boro game on the Friday night, I remember getting kicked in the kidneys by a copper on a horse. I remember wondering how that corner of the ground was pretty full when the train up there was emptyish, until I realised most of it was their boys including this massive fella who got lobbed out but came back in the second half. I remember sitting on the terraces and demanding an escort back to the station. That was the last game I have ever worn colours to a game.

I also went to the Leeds game the following week, scary days indeed when you look back.

I was also at the Newcastle (Nicol hat-trick game), but I was in the 'golf stand' above the Liverpool fans, couldn't cheer for fear of getting thrown off :D

There are many many stories from those days - it's great to be remembered about them.

Been in some tight situations myself Kev, I'd guess none worse than Spurs away in the Cup, Middlesborough and Birmingham used to be tricky to say the least.

Spurs away in the cup :o Remember queueing up for the tube home and this Spurs lad had a machete and was tapping it on his leg, I said to a copper aren't you going to do something about that. He replied along the lines of "f*** off you scouse b*****d serves you right for winning"

Remember going one year to Spurs [Not the Cup game] by coach, one of the lads had a sawn off shot gun tucked into his coat, don't know what happened, we kept well out of that.

One year [70's] we went to Old Trafford and ended up going in the Stretford End, Jimmy Baxendale pulled out this machete and scattered the end by himself.

Catch you later Kev. ;)

To be honest, one of the scariest situations I ended up in was at Ipswich of all places. :o

I don;t understand Ipswich at all. no problems when they travel and the only ties theres trouble is when ?Norwich turn up - or us!! why the f*** don;t they like us. I've run a couple of times to get the f*** out of the way of the nutters there - in additioan the police conveniently dissappear after the game as well - completely.

The police split us up, they escorted half of us to the station one way, and the rest of us the long way around where all their boys were waiting, the police then left us to it. Out numbered but not out fought

Night game at Ipswich yonks ago, we didn't have the numbers like if it was played on a Saturday.

Of course we made it to the middle of the Ipswich end and watched the game from there. Half time comes and we go downstairs for a piss. Bumps into the main Ipswich lads, no holds asked and none taken. Bedlam...

Well outnumbered, fought like dogs, till we overcame them.

Later heard one of the lads had been stabbed, revenge was sweet?
