Anyone Run Their Own Company?

[Guest Budo]

I'm about to resign from a LTD company me and two friends started almost three years ago. It never really took off. We've just got the one decent contract, but the others haven't got any ambition to push on. I've decided to jack it all in and go to Uni.

What is the best way to go about it? I was talking to somebody recently and they suggested I resign as an employee, but not as a director. This way they would have to vote me off the board and I would be more likely to get a pay off. Is this right?
