Right lads, always good to see the same old wrinkled faces around here

 

Anyways. I think Rafa has really done well with his buying this summer. For me he's kept the identity and the heart of the team but gone and fortified the postitions that needed. I'm very, very happy with the way the new boys are playing.

 

Pennant. Looks happy. Looks hungry. Looks good.

 

Bellamy. Looks like a fkin lune. Good on him. Seriously, he looks the dogs balls or something Vic once told me.

 

Gonzales. Theres something about this lad. Maybe needs a few more games but looks promising.

 

Aurelio. Ok, had a really good gamea after he came on. Hope he stays fit.

 

Paletta. One for the future.

 

I feel Rafa has gone out and picked up some bargains. He has a much more balanced squad and the bench is much stronge now than in the beginning of last season. We even have some players like Agger and Bolo who are almost new signings for us. Then darkhorses like Florent whom I've yet to disregard.

 

Onwards and upwards ehhh.

Gonzalez looks like he'll need a few months to adapt, gave the ball away a good bit today but there were some bright moments like the ball into the box that nearly led to the second just before Chelsea equalised. He'll definitely succeed at this club.

That ball he gave into the box was f***ing brilliant. A couple of crosses he did were fantastic also. Give him 6 months to adapt before we can really pass judgement, because he looks like one of those players that need a settling down period, unlike MOMO!!!

Watched how yesterday's first 11 played and the names on the bench, we have depth alright! And that's without Kewell, Kronkamp et al. Already very few, if none, can compare to us in terms of depth and options, get that striker and it is a frightening squad.

 

One thing to note of Chelsea's bench is that it is filled by 23, 24 years old, and lack the 26-30 yrs who have that tiny bit more experience. In that sense at least, our squad is more balance.
