Bring Back The Good Old Days

Remember when you could never get the score of a pre season game played out of the UK . You had to wait a few days for the Post or Echo to give a 2 line report.

 

Today, it has gotten ridiculous. Friendlies live on TV, commentary on the radio, full coverage of games on the web.

 

The result is media induced panic and stupidity. Some people here, and on other sites, sound like they are ready to jump off a bridge as our season is over and our new players are awful.

 

We have the first big game next week, followed by the Chavs next weekend. Let's all take a deep breath and see where we are 9 days from now.

I have made a conscious effort to (almost) totally ignore the pre-season. I have had too much second-rate footy this summer and really only live for the real club competitions. I don't care what we do until the whistle blows for the Charity Shield, and then it's back to business.

If there's anything as predictable as people moaning about pre-season results its people moaning about the people moaning and harking back to the good old days when you didn't know them till two days later.

I know, how totaly crazy that you can now watch these matches. The sooner we are all back in the dark the better.
