help finding funding

My daughter Laura is 18 years old and has Down's syndrome she was also born with a heart defect which she has twice had open heart surgery, to rectify. Laura has never let her early ill health stand in the way of her wanting to perform, and against all the odds she recently, successfully, auditioned for the Out of The Darkness Theatre Company in Elgin, Morayshire. This company is a working theatre group and a registered charity that works with both able bodied and special needs actors, producing shows last year which toured Dubai and the Edinburgh Fringe in particular.

The theatre company requires a subscription of approximately £35.00 per day per person and this is normally funded by the Local Education Authority (LEA). Unfortunately because Laura is not a resident of Elgin, the Morayshire LEA will not fund her placement and the Western Isles LEA has said that they will not help. Everything else is now in place i.e. Laura?s care package, a place one day a week at Moray college to study a course on independent living etc. Time is running out in respect of finding funding for ?The Out of the Darkness Company?. Laura has worked so hard to achieve her dream and if we lived on the mainland would probably be able to. There is nothing up here on the islands for young people with special needs and we are here for at least another 18-24 months.

We are looking for funding for Laura for the first two years at the Out of the Darkness theatre company, approximately £6000, anyone on here know of any grants or places we can apply for funding its becoming a bit of a nightmare.
