Well outside of asking Rafa I'm not sure anyone knows for sure.

 

We obviously have a provisional agreement with Alves and are trying to finalise the fee details with Sevilla so that they will allow the transfer to proceed. According to Alves agent the gap is getting smaller so we should probably expect some confirmation next week, fingers crossed.

 

Kuyt - no one knows exactly. We have been heavily linked with him and press speculation and some well informed posters have been told it's a done deal. Bascombe has said he is next on Rafa's target list but that we need to sell some players to raise the funds. Won't get too much more news until after Holland's involvement in the World Cup I'd imagine.

 

Aurelio - gone very quiet. Well informed posters and journalists have stated it's a done deal. His contract with Valencia will probably not expire until 30 June. We should probably expect to hear 'confirmed news' with quotes from the player and Rafa etc shortly before then.

I think its a case of we know his terms, know what bid will be accepted (or have had a bid accepted), know he's keen, and if theres enough money left from our main purchases, or can off load enough fringe players then we'll get him.

...and if he's ready to be on the bench as backup for Alves? I can't see us buying them both although I rate both of them. Unless it's Alves at RB and Pennant ahead of him?

 

But like you said, depends on who we get rid of. Particularly Kromkamp.

Aurelio is really good on the ball, good going forward, socres a fair amount of goals, takes good set pieces, but is a bit suspect when defending. Pretty much what you'd expect from a Brazilian full-back.

 

He can play left midfield and centre midfield too so you never know, he could effectively be Didi's replacement.
