Liverpool forward Anthony Le Tallec admits he would like to return to France.

The Under-21 international was fancifully dubbed 'The new Michel Platini' when emerging as a promising talent at Le Havre and was snapped up by Anfield boss Gerard Houllier.

However, he has failed to win a place under Rafa Benitez and has spent this season on loan at Sunderland.

"I have no idea about my future yet," he told But. "I will see after the Under-21 European Championship.

"But I don't think I will stay at Liverpool.

"I will ask for a transfer because I still have three years remaining on my contract and I don't want to be loaned any more.

"I want stability.

"A comeback to France is obviously my priority. I have first contacts, as with Paris Saint Germain, but nothing has been settled so far.

"It is true Bordeaux are a good club - competitive and with a great environment.

"Moreover, there is the Champions League.

"My friends Rio Mavuba and Julien Faubert told me Ricardo is a great coach.

"I would really like to go there."

I think Rafa should given him a chance next year (if his attitude has changed).

i like the way Skysports has the headline about Le Tallec as " Reds ace to ask for transfer."

now I may be wrong, but he has not been a "Reds Ace" for a long, long time.
