Swipe Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 How easy would it be to keep up with Liverpool matches (and all premier league ones as well) in Africa? Countires like Ghana? Does it matter if its in the poor or rich parts of the country? (are there rich parts of Ghana??) Long shot, but does anyone know??
cymrococh Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 There was an article on the Official site about our links with Africa recently, Ghana was one of the places mentioned as somewhere we have a lot of fans - so I assume it's fairly easy to watch matches there.

Because you are below the equator, when you are watching the game, the ball curves in the other direction, like when you flush the bog.

I'd be surprised if bars in the larger cities didn't have satellite TV and Prem games will be shown live. I know bars in Sierra Leone and in Mali do - don't see why Ghana should be any different. Otherwise you can take a traveller's radio (with Short Wave) and tune into BBC World Service.

Sounds like the Premiership is popular over there?

Not necessarily just the big cities in Sierra Leone (not that there really are any other than Freetown!). I saw some games way out in the back of beyond in between Bo and Kenema and in some pretty ropey parts of Freetwon as well. Think the channel is called Super Sports and has about 8 different channels if I remember correctly! You should have no problems finding games on in Ghana as that is a fair bit more develeloped than SL. They really love their English footy in West Africa and any bar that has the game will advertise it and be packed out.
Swipe Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 Cheers guys This place is not so much a footie forum - more a portal of fabulous knowledge! Cheers again.
