  1. To be fair, it's only one or two weirdo's who don't understand the game and want to fit in with the regular crowd, most of whom can give and take it.
  2. I can't see us buying anyone else unless we shift another couple of players, which is not easy given they're useless and on high wages. I'd be happy with someone like RVN, even if he's not fit yet.
  3. Can't see it happening now with any regularity. If anything Rafa is single minded and prefers the security of two designated holding midfielders, even if they barely function in an attacking sense, making any forward partnership redundant. I think Benayoun helps in that regard, because he's busy and direct, which makes the choice to leave him out yesterday all the more bizarre.
  4. I don't rate Ngog at all, sorry. Very limited player, even with youth on his side.
  5. It wasn't really a defence more an observation. I know he's not good enough but I don't think he was that bad yesterday. If he is staying there's no point picking apart his every minor mistake in a poor all round performance.
  6. But we can't shift him, so there's no point getting on his case. Hopefully we won't see much of him this season but if push came to shove, I'd rather him than Ngog.
  7. What's a Chunk when it's at home? Your every post on this topic has been the equivalent of a spoilt kid stamping his feet.
  8. You generally are. On ignore you go.
  9. So one incident? Ok, he's a c***, but I'd still rather have him than Ngog.
  10. So having my own view is contradicting and arguing with others who you deem more worthy? Is that how it works then?
  11. Pipe down, you silly hysterical child. No one has written anyone off, but if you can't see that we're a weaker side despite having 30 million to spend, I feel for you.
  12. I've seen plenty of others remarking that Voronin did ok yesterday, did you accuse them of being a WUM? If you can't accept other opinions I suggest you grow up a little, child.
  13. He might be a c*** but what did he do wrong yesterday exactly? Given we only have Ngog in reserve, I'd rather have Voronin instead.
  14. I can see a mauling or a frustrating 0-0. Depends how the players react after yesterday. Reina Johno Carra Skrtel Insua Bennayoun Gerrard Masch Riera Torres Kuyt
  15. That doesn't concern you at all? If I thought for a second that we'd put that 30 million to better use, I'd have let Alonso go with my blessing, but we're arguably weaker and no nearer to strengthening key areas.
  16. I don't buy that. Voronin did nothing wrong yesterday and he's a far better and more experienced player than Ngog.
  17. If Rafa felt Alonso was as important to us as Masch, he would have kept him, simple as that. He had 3 years left on his deal and would have got his head down if forced to stay. It could be argued that Rafa thought the money would be put to better use, which doesn't look likely now.
  18. Not sure why Alonso is such a taboo subject. It was a huge decision to sell him and dismantle our succesful midfield. I'm sure those who are concerned would love nothing more than to be proved wrong but yesterday didn't exactly instill any confidence that it was the right decision. Like Masch, if Rafa really wanted Xabi to stay he would have.

    Cara's form

Jamie will be fine. Early season teething problems, nothing more. It strikes me that whenever he has a dodgy game, which isn't very often, Agger suddenly becomes the saviour of the defence, despite his injuries, slack positioning and, contrary to popular opinion, penchant for hitting aimless long balls.
  20. I'd just offload Babel for some nominal fee and forget it ever happened. Stick Dirk up front with Torres, Benayoun right, Riera left, Gerrard in the centre and get all our best players on the park.
  21. As good as the front pairing is, the success of it was built around someone in midfield getting the best out of Gerrard, who in turn gets the best out of Torres. Without getting into the whole Lucas/Alonso debate again, I think without that supply line from CM, Stevie should drop back, at least until we get a good look at Aqualini, who does appear a bit more mobile and forward thinking than Masch and Lucas.
  22. Who has said they're content with it? The situation is a joke, and a scouse multi billionaire willing to spend all his own personal fortune would be great, but that's not going to happen. As dire as his budget is, no one forced Rafa to sell Xabi or Arbeloa and buy a 17 million quid RB and an injured CM for 20 million, leaving us short for other positions. Rafa wanted control, and he got it. I doubt we'll hear a peep about money if we win the next few games, so it works both ways for those questioning everyone else's motives.
  23. The service also has to come from wide positions, but with Dirk seemingly chasing shadows and Babel chasing his a***, it was even worse than normal yesterday. I think only when Stevie dropped back did Torres perk up and we started to really dominate and look dangerous.
  24. There is something in the lack of service thing. You can see his frustration rising when the ball is not getting forward quick enough and he and Stevie are isolated and feeding off scraps. That said, he has to do more when the ball is played into him. His touch can be very average at times.
  25. What do you mean contracts are worth nothng? Mascherano wanted out, why didn't Rafa sell him?
