  1. I sympathise with the intention butTesco is a business that RBS is disengageing from and there would probably be better targets. Perhaps Direct Line and Churchill which are both still owned by RBS although they are trying to flog these well. I'm a banker and believe that in the present circumstances RBS would like out as quickly as possible. The safety of their loans has detiorated significanly since the money was first lent. Alarm bells would have rung in head office once G&H fell out (a major cause of concern for any lender) and now the credit crunch and failure to raise funds for the stadium coupled with our narrowing margin of safety in qualifying for the champions league. I'd guess that RBS are doing all they can to get out but a little encouragment from SOS can do no harm and well done to you guys for trying. Dont mind the begrudgers.
  2. Hey you major plonkers. RBS sold Tesco Finance earlier this year. See link below http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/busi...icle4039876.ece
  3. Football manager search would suggest the the first team player is Riga current levante playermaker who has has expressed a desire to leave and to come to the preimership. he looks good scored about 10 goals this season in la liga. should cost about 5 million
  4. On the basis that Ronaldo wins most games for United how will Rafa set up to stop him? Is this for the wing back or stick Masher on him and tell him to kick the sh*t out of him. I remember a few years ago Ronaldo doing his tricks in front of Didi who just chopped him - excellent!
  5. It's crunch time now. We need leadership and I think David Moores can provide this and redeem himself in the process. Not alone will G&H have the fans against them but will have their own board member as well in a very public way. Go for it David.
  6. Just float this one!!! David Moores knows he has done wrong by the club and the fans in selling to G&H. Could he make a statement saying he is now in favour of a change of ownership of the club? Resign his seat on the board to make the point and by doing so regain his legend status with the fans. Come on David go for it!!. It just might make the differnece.
  7. If DIC do get in the first thing they will do is sack Moores and Parry for selling to Laurel and Hardy in the first place - and rightly so!!
  8. DIC are now saying there is no deadline. See link. http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5gD...GZS-DYER3z-IWEQ
  9. That's it Ok. It was actually a selection of players from the League of Ireland (South Ireland) and the Irish League (Northern Ireland) - must have been playing under the Linfield name. Historical in that once the troubles started in 1969 this would not have been possible. This means a huge amount to me and brings back such happy memories of my Dad and my childhood. Thanks Regards
  10. I know this is a long shot but does anyone have any knowledge of this friendly match. Not sure what year exactly it was but It was played in Winsor Park and my late Dad brought me to it when I was a boy. It started my life as a Livepool fan. I'm from Dublin but my Dad was from Belfast and we were up there visiting our relatives when he saw that the match was on. I remember Roger Hunt but not much else. I'd love to see a report or record of it. Thanks Regards
  11. I think there is something in this suggestion in as far as it relates to S Gerrard. Time may have come where Stevie is too big for the club and is holding back the team and other players developing. Fergie moved on Keane Becham and Horseface and each time the club improved. Wenger moved on henry and Viera and again look what happened. Stevie has too much baggage and is too intense. I dont think he makes a good captain. I think a sale in the Summer could lift cloud which has been hanging over the club and be the catylyst for a new beginning. I will now turn around and bend over so that you can all give me a good a*** kicking.
  12. I saw it. Absolutely hilarious. Particularily when he was asking Xabi if he had "shifted" any Irish girls. In fairness Xabi came across as a really solid guy who was well up for a laugh.
  13. Great looking forward to it. Have any Dublin supporters any idea where I might watch the West Ham match tomorrow? Is there a pub in Walkinstown which shows these? Billydog
  14. Just after listening to the interview. A few things struck me as follows: He said at one stage he has put a lot of money into the club. All reports say he has not put his hand in his pocket at all. With these kind of guys its easy enough to sign a piece of paper saying you will pay the bank if the club cannot but when they have to put cash on the table it's a totally different matter. Do the banks know how many other loans he has guaranteed with other banks for his other businesses? When all the banks come to call there may not be that much to split up and he may well do a runner. Why is the finance so piece meal? He said that the loan now will give them enough to start on the stadium but in most properly financed projects the proper full credit lines are in place before a sod is turned. Would they have started to dig the chunnel if they hadn't the full finance arranged before they started? It seems to me that the Banks will not commit to the full cost of the stadium now because G&H are not strong enough for this credit and that the plan is for G&H is to sell out within the next year avoiding a fire sale at the moment. Thanks Billydog
  15. Despite what Hicks says I note that the Guardian site has an article this morning saying that DIC has not gone away and is intent on buying Liverpool. Article goes on to say that the RBS refinace is only a stop gap measure and does not provide the kind of money we need to compete with the top 3.
