  1. Welcome to LFC
  2. Ah I forgot about agent Ayre. Thanks for the wake up call mate
  3. This is quite worrying. Assuming that the talks are going on between LFC and this other guy and not Shakhtar, what happens when LFC want to talk with the club? I hope it all pans out ok
  4. Reports from Marca now saying terms have been agreed with Suarez "some weeks ago". So perhaps then an offer from Real has been presented and agred in principle with Real. Obviously LFC would want to keep it quiet because potential targets would then know that we are about to receive a bumper packet on Suarez and therefore would up the price of any players.
  5. Looking at the balance of the side currently I think there are a number of changes still to be made at the club. I will start with goalkeeper. Bringing Mignolet is ultimately a move that will allow Pepe to move to Barca, I’m relatively sure that this is the plan. In the defence the dropping of Skirtel earlier in the season indicates that BR is after a different combination and it will be Skirtel out of the door. Coates has been unfortunate and I think deserves another year, perhaps out of loan. He is still young and is an international. Agger, Enrique and Johnson seem settled, changing too many there could be our undoing. Bringing Toure in is a good move but I suggest a further purchase there is needed as Wisdom and Kelly are not quite ready yet. I know nothing about Popadopolous other than written reports and the occasional “youtube” that have in the past, made even the worse player, capable. His nickname is “crazy” so could end up being another Neil Ruddock. Midfield is probably an area that is our most settled and with Gerrard, Lucas, Allen and Henderson we have coverage and quality. I would expect Alberto to operate in front of the two there but this could change if the likes of Mhkitaryan comes in. I know many here are unimpressed with Allen but I don’t share that, I think he has quality and given time, an injury free season and some playing time and he will develop. In the forward area we have an abundance of players including Borini, Coutinho, Sturridge, Suso, Aspas, Sterling and Downing. I left Suarez out as personally, I don’t expect him back now. Downing is a player I also expect to be released by the club in time. Again these are opinions but looking at the type of players that BR is bringing in and the fact that he favours the first 6 vying for 3 places, something has to go. Perhaps even Borini if a top named striker comes in as Suarez replacement!!! I think I recall that BR suggested 17 or 18 for his first team squad to be competitive. Remember there is no European football this season so numbers do not have to be too great. I would suggest that for league matches, where possible, a consistent starting 11 would be used with limited rotation. Cup matches would, as we have in the past, be used to keep the others with game time and the chance to contend for a coveted starting place. I posted some outs a few pages back in this thread and the potential money in would be around the £100m mark with around £50m on new purchases. The stellar buy at that time I put as Miki, whether this happens or not now I don’t know but there is no smoke without fire. If this does not transpire then someone like Eriksen.
  6. Welcome to Liverpool Football Club Luis Alberto, dont bite people, always try your best and you can become a legend.
  7. £30m means we still have considerable funds available to seriously strengthen. If the likes of Shelvey £7m, Spearing £3m, Assaidi £1m and possibly Henderson now £10m, all move on we could certainly bring in another couple of players. Perhaps Miki and Papa. This would do it for me.
  8. Alberto 6.8m Aspas 7m Toure signing fee Mignolet 9m Thats about 23m take off Carrols 15.5m and we are about 7m or so down. How much do you think the board were looking to inject?
  9. Far too many stories at the moment. My head is going to explode.
  10. The latest from the Echo says a deal has been struck with Miki http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumour-mill-4703249
  11. Thanks Dazzlaj doesnt help having fingers like pigs t*** and using a phone keypad
  12. The media attention because his actions sell papers, whether we as supporters like it or not, the attention from the media is not showing the club in a positive light. If that attention is detrimental in bringing investment in then those upstairs have a decision to make. Personnally I think he has been hounded by the press and half of the attention is unwarranted. But, the press hate LFC and because of that they will latch onto Suarez or any player that will give them the ammunition to take a pop at us. What I would love is for Suarez to come back and clean up those niggling things that allow the media chance to sqipe at us. If he cant then we need to get as much as we can and allow him to go. Replacing Suarez will be difficult but then we have been here so many times before. There is always another Suarez/Torres/Keegan
  13. Thats for pointing that out CC. My bad
  14. Agreed. These guys being muted appear to have pace and creativity, add them to the players we have and it bodes well. I also agree that at the moment the talk is in the second half of the field but where do you consider us to be weak in the full back department?
  15. 6-0? Thanks buddy and good to be back, lots of new faces and good to see.
  16. Someone posted that if we sell Suarez then we will be out looking for another striker. I'm not so sure and will try to explain. At the moment we have Sturridge and Borini who both have a little pace about them. In addition Coutinho can motor when he chooses. Add to that Aspas and Miki who certainly can move a little. Another addition is Alberto who is a quick lad. Then another potential signing is Astu and again pace orientated (All this is assumptions from clips seen). For a number of seasons we have seen a Liverpool side, mostly at home where the opposition play with a flat back 10, finding it impossible to break the defence down. It has changed in the past couple with the guile of Suarez, but if that were to go, I dont think we would have the same penetration. So what then if a slightly different approach were to be made. Play Gerrard in a deeper more defensive role along side Lucas/allen and with Coutinho, Aspas, Miki and Sturridge create a more couter attacking side. Aka Newcastle last season. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why so many quick players are being targetted?
  17. The long and short of it is whether anyone will put an offer down for him. Perhaps because of all of the activity we seem to be doing, I would have expected at least some interest show in Suarez. A statement from one of the "potential" interested parties. But nothing and Suarez continues to be questioned and more importantly, continues to answer! I wonder what the opinions would be if he came out and said "I am staying at Liverpool and I am going to ignore the press"
  18. f*** me Ive been away far too long
  19. I'm not that impressed with Atsu tbh. Fast feet but doesn't move that quick. £3m though and a bit of time we will see.
  20. I'm not sure we either need one with the proposed players coming in or with the potential line up Sturridge, Coutinho, Mkhitaryan and Aspas But time will tell
  21. Reports starting now that both Carroll and Miki have passed medicals
