  21. From The Mail - Itandje on his way to Galasaray - Galatasaray's move for Itandje leaves Liverpool's Carson in limbo Galatasaray have made a £2million move for Liverpool goalkeeper Charles Itandje — scuppering Scott Carson's chances of a permanent exit from Anfield in the process. Former French Under-21 international Itandje, who joined Liverpool from Lens last summer, has agreed a three-year contract with the Turkish champions. Scroll down for more Scott Carson Scott Carson, who was on loan at Aston Villa last season More... * Boro chief tells Liverpool to forget about trying to sign Stewart Downing - he's staying * Ajax challenge Portsmouth and Spurs for Liverpool's Benayoun Itandje, 25, made only seven appearances last season — none of them in the Premier League — as cover for Pepe Reina but Liverpool now need to bring in a replacement. Veteran Bordeaux goalkeeper Ulrich Rame, 35, has been mentioned but otherwise Rafa Benitez wants to keep hold of Carson. Despite interest from Middlesbrough and Stoke to take him on loan, Benitez has made it clear that he will only let Carson leave on a permanent deal — valuing the England international at £6m. That has prompted Stoke to offer £1m for Sunderland goalkeeper Marton Fulop instead. Roy Keane will reluctantly sell the 25-year-old but wants double that amount. He turned down a £500,000 offer from Leicester last season. Grant Leadbitter meanwhile has signed a new three-year dealt at the Stadium of Light. The 22-year-old is now Sunderland’s longest serving player and Keane said: ‘He’s got quality and he’s enthusiastic, he’s a good character. He’s developing and maturing well.’
  22. We've had a bid accepted and been given permision to talk to Ramsey now as well according to the Daily Mail Everton and Liverpool given permission to talk to Cardiff whizzkid Ramsey By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 10:25 PM on 04th June 2008 Aaron Ramsey is ready to talk to four Barclays Premier League clubs after the battle to sign him intensified yesterday. Everton joined Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in matching Cardiff's £5million asking price, and it is understood all four have now been given permission to open talks with him. Ferguson eyes Cardiff City midfielder Aaron Ramsey as a long-term successor to Paul Scholes at Manchester United United believed they were in pole position but the 17-year-old Welsh midfielder is thought to be torn over where to go. It is unlikely he will make a decision until next week after Everton scraped together the money, despite continuing uncertainty over how much manager David Moyes will be able to spend this summer. United have made it clear they would allow Ramsey to spend next season back on loan at Cardiff, while Everton, Arsenal and Liverpool have indicated he would go straight into their first-team squads.
