  3. Reading about Pellegrino in the Rafa Benitez biography it describes him as a "model professional" and basically as one of the corner stones of the Valencia team. I seem to remember it saying that Pellegrino was the person who ensured Rafa's instructions were carried out on the pitch, but I may have imagined that bit! He is clearly someone Rafa can trust and it is just a shame it was his pace that let him down in the PL, I think he would make a good coach though.
  4. It's a tricky one, I would love nothing more than to see Chelsea get beat - however that gives the mancs the inspiration they need to believe they can finish 1st, which means we wouldn't get 2nd place. On the otherhand, if Chelsea are still involved in the title race when our semi final comes around that may take their mind off it a little bit. If they have won the league by that point they can then concentrate purely on the FA cup... decisions, decisions... Infact can we have it so both chelsea and the mancs lose today? That would suit us all really...
  5. Yeah that may be £10m that Bayern Munich are prepared to pay, but it looks like we are going to try the same tatic as with Walcott, ie if the lad wants to play for us enough we can get him cheaper than what other clubs are prepared to pay for him.... which as we have seen is a tactic which doesn't always work... it may also depend upon the money situation in the summer, if Rafa rates him enough and can afford to pay £10m then we may buy him without testing his resolve of how much he loves liverpool and waiting for him to force his club to sell to us.
  6. Apologies if already posted: Aguero eyes Reds move By Paul Higham - Created on 30 Mar 2006 Highly-rated Argentinian teenager Sergio Aguero says that he would rather join European champions Liverpool than German giants Bayern Munich. Bayern had been looking to make a move for the promising 17-year-old attacker, and were willing to pay around £10 million for his services. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hinted a bid would be forthcoming sooner rather than later in the hope of getting their foot in the door ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, the Independiente youngster says that he would rather join Rafa Benitez's Liverpool - the club he says he supported as a boy. "If I had to choose a league then it would be the Premier League," Aguero is quoted as saying in the Munich TZ newspaper. "I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there. "I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente." Benitez has already dipped into the Argentine market to sign young defender Gabriel Paletta from Banfield for next season, and he could make a move for compatriot Aguero. The 17-year-old, who plays in midfield or up front, is being tipped as the next big thing from South America, and has been backed to make as big an impact as Lionel Messi in Europe. Benitez is always on the look-out for fresh new talent to bring to Anfield and Aguero's comments will make him confident of beating off a host of top European sides if he decides to make a move. http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=37...+eyes+Reds+move

  13. I don't think its an impossibility that he may leave in the next couple of years. As Tetti said, closer to home, tempting offer etc. I can't see him leaving this summer, but in a couple of years time, maybe after he has established himself as part of the spanish national squad and has got a bit homesick... Our job is to make sure he loves the club and city enough that he never wants to leave! Also if Rafas masterplan works out, its hard to leave a team unless you are going to someone better - and hopefully Rafas masterplan aims for us to be one of the best teams in Europe.
  14. Excellent! Lets hope this is a regular thing, enjoyed watching that
