Amongst such strong competition from the last couple of days you must be proud to have created the stupidest thread.
  2. I was there. Bit disappointed by the quality overall. Many of the heats earlier in the year were much better. Shame we went out so early but it was damn close and Rangers did go on and win it - and deservedly so. Them humiliating Chelsea 8-2 in the final was particularly satisfying, not least when the big contingent of Chelsea fans right next to us buggered off several minutes before the ref put them out of their misery. In other news, Jeff Winters is an utter t***.
  3. Surprised there's been no mention of this (that I can find anyway). Heskey's ex-chairman not remembering him too fondly: http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,1830135,00.html A little sad to see someone I really liked in the red shirt, at least in his first couple of seasons, in such decline at only 28. While I hope he manages to turn it round at Wigan, I have to wonder how much he really has just settled down to collect his pay cheques for the next few years.
  4. I was far from convinced at the time that the ref saw the stamp. That said, I haven't seen many replays since to see where he was looking.
  5. He had his moments for us but we have Crouch now, who offers more than Heskey ever did.
  6. While I don't exactly mind seeing Poll being on the receiving end, some of the criticism is slightly unfair. There was at least one other official in the ground that should have pointed out the yellow card mix-up. I even saw a couple of reports blaming him for not spotting Kewell being offside for Australia's second! That said, those were two of the most blatant penalties you'll ever see and that Siminic donkey could have been sent off a couple more times, I reckon.
  7. Definitely broken
  8. He controlled it using his arm as well.
  9. I utterly despise Motson. Lawrenson I have no time for either but at least the guy's vaguely compus mentis.

    Cisse

Even that deranged old fool Motson managed to pick up on Cisse's lack of application today. I was screaming at the TV as he strutted around on the halfway line, making no attempt to press the Chelsea defender dribbling past nearby. Morientes comes on and doesn't stop running. It may not have worked out so well for Nando at Anfield so far but at least the guy puts the effort in. Superb performance today from the team, and for me Kewell in particular. Doesn't mean that Cisse wasn't the one sour note.
