For Utd i'd deffo go: ---Reina---- Kelly-Carta-Agger-Konchesky ----Meireles-Poulsen--- Johnson-Gerrard-Cole ---Torres-----

it's hard but I today like to mention the positives from this summer window. My 5 cents.... 1) The core 5 comitted , top-class players are still here: Torres, Stevie, Carra, Kuyt, Reina: 2) We had 3 hi-profile pliers who all wanted to leave for different reasons: Yossi, Masch, Aqua. We moved them on at good deals. 3) We had players who are not good enough or similar which i didn't think we would get rid of: Cava, Insua, Riera, Plessis, El Zhar, Degen,, Nemeth....... 4) We have improved our homegrown quota significantly with Konchesky, Jones and promoting youngsters 5) We've brought in 2 players which i believe are top European class in Cole, Meireles both at very low prices compared to market value. 6) We have brought in 3 great squad freebies in Jova, Fabio and Maxi (earlier). 7) We have brought in / promoted a crop of very talented youngsters who will be the future of the club in: Shelvey, pacheco, Kelly, Wilson, Suso, Sterling 8) We have a squad of 2 very capable players in every position on the pitch. Is everything rosy then...no far from it...my biggest disappointment was the failure to bring in a back-up to Torres....I really hoped a Ruiz (or even Cole) would come in and Babel sent the other way.We will be so dependant on Gerrard and Torres staying fit because I sincerely think our revamped first XI will be very very comeptitive in a few weeks when they start to gel.

You'd t think we had a choice between Salcido and Konchesky and decided the latter would fit us better...just speculating...

For all negativists here: which LB for 3m and CF for 10m would be good enough for us?

Cole is strong, quicker than Crouchie, can hold the ball up and knows the Prem. Excellent signing for me. He murdered us last year when we played West ham

The Chilean David Batty....

Gary Medel joining for 8.6m according to rumours via Twitter..tbc

Babel in for N'Gog

If we buy Konchesky ahead of Salcido , it's Roy, LFC scouts who have evaluated both players and believing his the best we get for 3.5m. Even if people here might think so we're not f** stupid. Also, Cavalieri had a deal to leave this summer to get first team footie. We replaced him with someone experienced homegrown at 0 net cost. It's unbelievable so many here are so upset about that... The only negative for me so far this window is the failure to bring Toivonen in but PSV refused...

Latest on Toivonen is that PSV has told us the boy is not for sale and any renewed bids are not welcomed. according to Expressen, LFC accepted the stance of PSV and may return with a bid in January. Might explain the loan rumours about Trzeguet as a stop gap... Salcido should be available though but it now seems B'ham is also interested around 3m €.

Team guess: ---Reina---- Kelly-Soto-Carta-Aurelio ---Poulsen-Gerrard Maxi--Cole--Babel ------N'Gog-----

Caceres and Hleb went to Barca for a combined 35 m€ if I'm not wrong. Caceres could be perfect for us as 1st choice LB and cover RB. If we can get 12-15m plus these 2 , under the circumstances, I'm carefully optimistic about the deal.

Toivonen is not an attacking midfileder. He is a CF but is very versatile and play both as #9 and #10 as you will see for yourself on Sunday vs WBA

He is good if not as big of a talent as Zlatan of course. Very allround, can play in a veritey of positions. Can also score from a distance with free kicks etc. Seems very level headed and has raised his game when given new challenges/new clubs/U21/Swedish national team and now PSV... Apparently we made a call to PSV on Thursday morning, they declared he's not for sale....but listening to the stuff on TV today, I think a good offer that PSV 't resist..10m+ and he is on his way definitely

Alright fellow Kopites...latest on Toivonen. Both major Swedish TV channels were on site in Eindhoven today to folllow the game and interview Ola and people around the club. He had one assist today and the other Swedish striker Berg scored two. The PSV coach admitted he waNTS HIM TO STAY BUT LOOKED RESIGNED TO THE FACT that Something is DEFINITELY going to happen soon. Ola himself had a hard time keeping a straight face so he's made his mind up and the the interview with Berg gave it all away. He wants it... The issue is if they can replace within a week but expect a decision on/off within 1-3 days. Fingers crossed

Yes, they all stem from the Mail, which seem to add 1+1=3. If toivonen anyway were to go PSV will ask for at least 10m € to double their investment in him from 2009. Toivonen is a very decent allround player but IMO hard to think he will ever become truly high European class....

In fantasy world which decent FW' could we "dream" of...? Crouch Aguero Zlatan Fabiano Dzeko Suarez C Cole Huntelaar Toivonen Llorente ..........???

Poulsen+Crouch+Figueroa=Masch ..or maybe straigt swap with Zlatan..rumors he's on his way to Citeh..

Stop this shyte...Masch wants to go..we get Poulsen in to play the holding role in midfield together with Gerrard..AND..we get 20 m to spend on some areas we're weak in...LB and support for Torres.f*'' sake

Roy confirms it close...Juve deal done..discussing terms with player and yes he absolutely loves him as a plier... http://www.sporten.dk/fodbold/liverpool-ja-vi-forhandler-med-poulsen

Poulsen will be excellent next to Gerrard/Aqua/Playmaker midfielder....also really good in the air which will be useful on set-pieces.

http://www.sporten.dk/fodbold/saa-meget-koster-christian-poulsen I I was hoping for Parker bot Poulsen I'm sure will do a good cleaning job for us behind Gerrard/Aqua/Cole/Pacheco..

SWP, Roque Santa, Micah Richards, Bellamy...open arms welcome at the right price
