  1. Not for me, id put crouch up on his own with garcia or kewell behind him, or if fowlers fit, give him a run with crouch. Id love cisse or morientes to come good, but unfortunatly i cant see it. Im not defending cisse because i really love the guy, i just think the double standards is a joke. Crouch is the only one out of the 3 (aside from the odd game by cisse when he has really linked well with crouch) that has shown any promise for me.
  2. Lol, i was agreeing with you. Heskey is the perfect example of a player who does alot of defensive work, and chasing lost causes. The result - not a very good striker, and hes probably at his true level now with brum, or mabey a bit higher. I think alot of people seem to have a problem with cisse having a colorfull personality myself. Surley it cant be him having a sulk when the ball doesnt land at his feet, because a certain worlds best midfielder done this when he was schite for most of last season.
  3. Thing is, when people in the public eye have secrets, they always come out(no pun intended). I havent got a problem with his sexuality myself, each to their own, but i guess you can understand why he would be worried about coming out. As for him as a player. Dont rate him, hes too slow and clumbersome. Looks overweight and is not a patch on the player he once was. Around 1998-2000 i thought he was up there with maldini and co, but now hes a shadow of his former self, and i dont just mean with all this recent personal stuff. Hes been below his former self for the past 3 or so years. I always thought the money and status went to his head when he signed for arsenal, wouldnt even have him in the englnad squad myself, id put upson ahead of him. Hope he sorts himself out and doesnt do anything silly. Mabey if he knuckled down and lost a bit of weight he might get back to a decent level.
  4. Football is different now, but i have one.... Heskey! towards the end of his career he always tracked back, and was still scoring, albiet not as many, but football has changed since then.
  5. id like to see fowler and kewell with riise or garcia wide left
  6. dont get me wrong, im not belitiling puskas international record, but his achievements in spain, as wit alot of madrid players at the time imo where aided by franco
  7. Again, why the difference. "if morientes continues his form hell be gone" And "cisse will be gone" Why not "if cisse continues this form hell be gone" Again, i want them both gone, they both do not seem to be able to do it for us, but if i had to stick with one, id stick with cisse because hes 6 or 7years younger than morientes, and has pace. Id say cisse was over priced, but at the time it was the average market price. Weras morientes id say was simlar, over priced but at the time that was the state the market was in. They are both overpriced though, not just cisse.
  8. Come on, thats total crap. The moves hardly blossom through morientes, i mean half the time the ball gets to him, he does a flick or a turn and then either looses the ball gives the bal away gets shoved off the ball gets fouled.
  9. Ok, so despite cisse scoring more goals, and playing half his games out wide, morientes is a better player. erm, ok. The facts speak for themselves. Ok, so cisse doesnt do any farty flicks or back heels around the middle of the park, but they dont leed to goals do they. Now if you said "moritentes WAS a better player" id agree. This season alone Cisse Friendlies 05/06 Liverpool 1(0) 1 0 0 UEFA Champions League Qualifying Liverpool 4(0) 4 0 0 Barclays Premiership Liverpool 11(0) 4 1 0 World Cup Qualifying France 2(0) 3 0 0 Champions League Liverpool 2(0) 2 0 0 Int Friendly France 0(0) 1 0 0 World Club Championship Liverpool 1(0) 0 0 0 FA Cup Liverpool 2(0) 0 1 0 24 games - 16 goals Morientes UEFA Champions League Qualifying Liverpool 4(0) 2 0 0 Barclays Premiership Liverpool 11(0) 3 1 0 Int Friendly Spain 1(0) 1 0 0 The League Cup Liverpool 1(0) 0 0 0 Champions League Liverpool 2(0) 1 0 0 World Cup Qualifying Spain 0(0) 1 0 0 FA Cup Liverpool 1(0) 0 0 0 20 games - 7 goals
  10. And scored alot more goals.
  11. In fairness, puskas won the european cup when real madrid where the only team that played in it, and franco would have anyone who deard to score against madrid killed.
  12. Cisse has only been here 6 months longer. Sufferd a double break in his leg, "has not been paird with the greatest of strikers", has been played out wide in a position hes never played before more times than not. Yet hes still scored alot more than morientes and scored a pen in the champs league final. IT seems asif morientes can do no wrong whilst cisse can do no right. And btw, im no great fan of either, i want shut of the both of them but i find the hypocracy with regards to these 2 players laughable.
  13. With sven in charge, i wouldnt write anything off. If he stayed in charge for another 15 years backham would be playing at age 45.
  14. Pace and weight as people will see with fowler are not an issue when you have the natural ability to put it in the net from any situation.
  15. When did they change the rules allowing only 3 strikers in the squad?
  16. Yeah, hes scoring s*** loads in brazil. Aparently the brazilian fans were going mad that he wasnt in the squad for the last world cup, calling for scolari`s head and all , especially after they strugged to qualify. They soon forgot though
  17. ill find out tomorrow. Its all on if ive got to work or if ive got a ticket from work.
  18. Well it wasnt f***ing me. All the fellas around me were going mad telling everyone to sit the f*** down when that happend. One fella turned round for some reason and said "ask me in a scouse accent"(the fella who did say it was a scouser, so this didnt make sense) to which about 30 people replied "wha , f***ing sit down now ya c***" . the fella got off on about 75 mins
  19. but id stillhave him over morientes, he still scores for fun albeit in the brazilian league and is pushing for a world cup place.
  20. I never have, i think hes awfull. As for ferdinand in midfield, its hilarious. He had an ok game against a poor wolves side in midfield and the next day the mancs were convinced lampard or gerrard should be dropped from the england squad to make way! lol
  21. its true though.
  22. Gotta agree. I maen its alright saying "he just needs more goals" but the fact is, he doesnt even look like scoring. At least when crouch was on his no scoring run he was getting chances. Morientes hasnt been getting a sniff. And the odd chance he has got his missed.
  23. Casual, what game did you watch? He tried to chest it back to the keeper, but as he did reiner had allready called and gone for it. Wouldnt say xabi was casual "all night" as hed not been on the pitch for that long, and after that happend he was our most passionate player, sprinting all over the place to get the ball whenever it went out of play. As for the save, i thought it was fantastic, and all around me in the annie road jumped up and cheerd as if we had scored when he made that save.
  24. Fowler didnt like him at Citeh because aparently he was a bit ballgreedy. But he went on to say that he was probably an alight guy, but he just felt that he was better than city. Which is exactly the same way that fowler has been feeling. I agree with you in that when he was here he kept his head down and worked hard. And played better than any strikers who have arrived since him have played.
  25. Yeah, he was asked why he has never settled at a club, and in reply he told how he has always hoped to find a club that feels like home, and the only time he did was at liverpool. He loved the fans, the club, the teammates and despite agreeing to a pay cut, having to battle heskey owen and braos for his place and despite being told he would have to play for the reserves for a while he still wanted to stay, yet in the end, houllier (allegedly) leaked some story about his brothers to the press and made it clear he had no future despite telling him previously that he desperatly wanted to keep him. And then houllier went and signed diouf! Normally id take what he said with a grain of salt, but it seems a common theme among players who talk about houllier.
