The paper said Alex Ferguson's side had offered 3.8 million euros (2.6 million pounds) for the international, seeing him as a natural replacement for Roy Keane, but that Real were holding out for 5 million. "The ball is in Madrid's court. They are the ones who have to take the decision not me," Gravesen told the paper on Wednesday. "They have to decide once and for all if they want me or not." The 29-year-old joined Real from Everton in January 2005 for a reported fee of 3.5 million euros ($4.68 million). After being a regular starter under Wanderley Luxemburgo until the end of last season he has dropped out of favour this season as new coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro has preferred Pablo Garcia, Guti, Ivan Helguera and Sergio Ramos. Gravesen has a contract with Real till 2008.
