    It's a lack of cover. We want to press from the front, our set up has fallen to pieces without that industry in midfield.

    There is that, but the idea of shifting world class players. Players who we've all previously agreed are world class at least. We just need to sign some midfielders who will run around a lot. If we do that and it still doesn't work then maybe we can have a big panic

    It's more the point how would we replace him if you really want to do that. Sell all the players you want! We will need to replace them

    It would mean replacing them though, and the work that comes with that. We just need to sort the midfield before we start s***ting the bed.

    The trouble with that is that Nunez is not very good at football, and I think our players knew it when he came in

    But to not even be on the bench when he's clearly fit, with Arthur ahead of him. It's that thing about how, if this is going to be a 'transition season', we're not really doing much to blood youngsters

    But replace them with who? I suppose we could do it if we're throwing in the towel on top four. There's definitely something weird going on with Curtis mind you

    Also a worry in terms of new signings. I'm sure City/ Real will be telling Bellingham that if he signs for Liverpool his legs will be gone by the time he turns 30.

    Like I said somewhere else, I think the players might be aware that they're being run into the ground. Hard to ask them to break their backs every week. Sure they're aware of our injury list too

    Think there's something to be said for the kind of lift that Diaz gave the squad when he came in. New faces are good, even if it's just to push the starting 11, Robertson and Tsimikas being a good case.

    That might be the case but we need to fix the midfield first and find out before we start tearing everything else up. Replace Matip in the summer, look at back-up at RB. I agree though, it was clear last year that we've left ourselves with so much to do this summer.

    Think that was a preseason fitness schedule thing. We looked knackered against Fulham, City built up their fitness through the first few games of the season. We've just looked knackered all season really, it's quite mad thinking about it

    I wonder if players are aware that they've been run into the ground. It comes back to our lack of signings, but you wonder how receptive they might be to being asked to 'give everything' these days

    Yeah I think Trent is fed up to the point of downing tools. He's such a gifted footballer though, not worth cutting our losses.

    Nah. We need two industrious midfielders, if we do that we'll look half decent again. Our defenders are being shown up by the lack of cover they're getting

    As long as we're playing him in a midfield three we'll need him to play like that. Can't believe we didn't just get in a midfielder who runs around a lot, even when we settled for Arthur

    You can probably forgive a player for that at his age. Not trying to have a go at him but if he's starting most games then maybe we shouldn't expect all that much

    We've turned into United haven't we. De Gea getting their player of the season for years when they were crap

    It's probably not true, but if so you'd imagine it's to fund a Bellingham signing.

    Elliott's played nearly every game for us this season. Speaks for itself really, he's not that good.
