Erm, we had plenty of problem in attack when Fowler or McManaman was out. Macca was our only creative force. When he was shut down, we passed sideways until our own defenders fell asleep and then we concede a soft goal.

Erm, during that time Scandinavians were the only people we could attract (or were willing to "trust"). Leonhardsen cost ridiculous money whereas some superior Frenchman/Dutchman went elsewhere for much less. Don't miss that time, AT ALL. That's why it still irks me when people waxed nostalgia about Evans' reign. It was exciting int he beginning mainly from the promising talents of Fowler, Macca, and Redknapp -- and then it turned into a soul wrenching march of futile football.

Caroll's immobility impedes out fluidity up front. We need to find a better way to integrate him or we have a huge flop on our hand. His lack of involvement in our corners was very frustrating, but probably down to lack of practice. Dawson also had a great game for them.

He's alright -- I believe I've seen all the Liverpool games he had taken part and I haven't seen anything *special* from him that screamed "top class footballer" just yet. But he's 19, big, not too clumsy, confident, seemed to know what he was doing -- good starting ingredients for a long and successful career.
