  4. 'you ever tried the holding midfield role, son?'
  5. A top level side at international or Premiership standard? I'd say Andy & Stevie H Good cop bad cop routine.
  6. On here
  7. To be honest I don't think John Terry's the player he is with Chelsea when he's without Makelele for England. A shadow of the player in fact. England's need for a good ball-winning sitter is paramount. It'll release Gerrard and Lampard, if you insist on picking him.
  8. Not a f**king chance, read it back pal
  9. I prefer ths one:
  10. How the hell do I answer that? Popcorn smilies.
  11. The topic wasn't Irish football, it was Paul McShane, but it suits your argument. In essence, were it about the debacle that is the FAI and Irish football I would be in agreement with you. Your smugness stemmed from your inability to accept from someone, that a debutant of last night reminded him of Jamie Carragher. Everything else you're offering is a sham.
  12. Scally!
  13. Are you in pompous mode Paul, or is it your choice to simply ignore the opinions being offered, or maybe you can contribute without being smug? The initial post of mine about signing him was in jest, did that slip on by Paul? No-one, I repeat not one poster or Irish fan in general is extolling the World Class footballing virtues of Paul McShane. I hope that's clear enough, but if you reckon it's a funny debacle, knock yourself out.
  14. Why is there a dislike of the English national team by English nationals?
  15. No because Steve Finnan is in our defence
  16. I thought our game had started early and we'd scored last night. Had a glimpse at the TV and it was Nev's precise back-pass. The roar shook the foundations.
  17. 27? I bet you he doesn't.
  18. Absolutely not. I enjoy seeing our lads do well, it doesn't please nor displease me if England do well or badly. Didn't even watch it last night in the pub before our game. I don't enjoy the media circus and the hype but that's not really the players or managers fault. I don't go in for all that nonsense, you english have as much right to be patriotic as we do. Well, almost. ps. Doest that sound at all convincing?
  19. Bring 'em on in Croke Park. I'll feel quite justified in telling Craig Bellamy how much I didn't like him.
  20. At least we wouldn't expect to be entertained so we wouldn't bother at all.
  21. Please, only if they're better or as good as the magnificent offering above.
  22. A seven-year-old boy was at the centre of a courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over whom should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Republic of Ireland soccer team , whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
  23. Who's 'they're'? I think you're patronising whoever you have in mind as I'm sure the Irish fans understand it's his first game and he'll not even be a regular with a fully fit squad. He played and did well, in one game. The basis of his game is simplicity and communication, a bit like Jamie Carragher, the comparisons end there.
  24. The point is that he simplifies the game a la our very own carragher, this isn't really a point for debate Paul, he does do it simple as does Jamie. Maybe I'm wrong. There's nil comparison in terms of experience and their overall game as yet. Bit like comparing Agger and Hansen's styles. Nothing to compare overall yet but their styles would be quite similar.
  25. It's hos divot, take a bloody touch and then smash it. 2 fools if you ask me.
