Yes but deep down you got to feel sorry for him a little, he came over from Holland where he scored goals for fun and now he is a shadow of the player he once was. The lad has lost all confidence in himself, he even struggles to control a football which is the basic requirement of any top level footballer. The best thing for him would be to leave in the summer and get a fresh start somewhere else.

consistent was the key word there
-
That isn't quite true, we do lack a cutting edge at home on a consistent basis. The amount of goals scored stat has been skewed due to two or three high scoring games at home, Derby and Portsmouth spring to mind. Its our inability to kill teams off at home that has been the problem. Despite our improving away form this season, our lack of goalscoring instinct and attacking play away has let us down, we've had plenty of 0-0s and 1-1s. Our attacking players just aren't good enough. Kuyt, Pennant, Kewell, Voronin and possibly Benayoun all need to go and need to be replaced by two or three world class attacking talents.
-
1. Mascherano 2. Hyypia 3. Carragher No one else came close to those three. Three defensively minded players our best tonight, tells us everything.
-
Personally don't feel there is anything wrong with our defence, we are only seemingly conceding goals because our attacking players are not taking their chances up the other end and killing games off. This then puts undue pressure on the defence when really they shouldn't be trying to hold onto a 1-0 lead. Its puts doubts in the players minds but just as important it gives the opposition players belief they can get something out of the game, a game in which the have not "controlled" or "dominated". We do have the second best defensive record in the league.

I think those draws tells us everything about our attacking play in the final third of the pitch. Our defence is fine but going forward we lack any creativity, intelligence or imagination in our play. Time and time again, if we go into a game and our attacking play is just "decent" we would have come away with three points no problems at all. Can't believe how many times this season we've dropped two points and still Rafa cannot see what is wrong. Our wide men just aren't good enough, they have limited ability as an attacking force and Kuyt the poor sod is being flogged as a dead horse. Just to show how much these draws have restricted us this season, the bitters are 2 points ahead of us despite losing five more games than us and the Mancs have lost more games than us and are still way ahead. I feel sorry for Crouch because he should have been on sooner, the lad has kept his head down and just got on with it. Pops up tonight and produces a clinical finish. We need more consistency upfront in terms of personnel because right now chopping and changing the wide men and the front men is not working, we've got no fluidity at all going forward and its leading to a total lack of imagination in our attacking play. Just so frustrating, the difference between us challenging for the title and being with the also rans for 4th place has been our inability to convert draws into wins. Our record at Anfield this season is really poor, only 4 wins all season so far and the draws keep stacking up, that is now six out of 11 played. Our record on the road has improved but our home form has taken a turn for the worse this season. Draws this season in the league: Chelsea (H) 1-1 Portsmouth (A) 0-0 Birmingham (H) 0-0 Spurs (H) 2-2 Arsenal (H) 1-1 Blackburn (A) 0-0 Man City (A) 0-0 Wigan (H) 1-1 Middlesbrough (A) 1-1 Aston Villa (H) 2-2 Depressing reading that list, criminally dropped two points in a lot of those games.

Well in Crouch lad, though you feel Rafa should have put him on earlier!
-
That is it in a nutshell, we take a one goal lead, don't kill the opposition off due to woeful attacking play and predictably we panic at the back and the opposition score.
-
Just so predictable that was, been the same pattern over the past few games. Take a lead and concede a goal yet again from a set piece at Anfield. They have scored again, oh dear 1-2
-
This game alone just shows which players aren't good enough to play for LFC. I'm not going to mention those names yet but both Sami and Mascherano have been excellent!
-
Our attacking play is woeful, there is virtually nothing coming down our left or right hand side. Aurelio/Kewell have been very disappointing to say the least. Arbeloa needs to be more positive and Mascherano is the best player on the pitch, he's working his a*** off!
-
Get Aurelio off he is becoming a total liability in this game. Kewell shoots and corner to us! Good block by defender and what a WASTE of a corner. hahahah and we score!!!! Massive scramble and Benayoun gets onto the end of it!
-
Benayoun and Aurelio need to WAKE UP! Very slow starts and very sloppy.

Throughout the whole saga, its Hicks been mouthing off to the press, releasing statements left, right and centre. But what about Gillett? He has said nothing at all to the press about the ongoings with Klinsmann, how little the owners have backed the manager and the recent speculation about DIC. Where does Gillett stand on this? Is he keeping a dignified silence, not being drawn into it and letting Hicks do the dirty work or does he feel Hicks is no longer a suitable partner because of his actions? It could be that George Gillett will ultimately have the final say who will run this club in the near future, does he stick by Hicks and go through with the refinance of the loan or will he go to DIC and be willing to sell his shares since he feels he can no longer work with Hicks?
-
Off RAWK... "Al Jazeera are reporting that Tom Hicks approached DIC asking them to bid - an update is that DIC are refusing to confirm or deny the story"
-
hhahaha, fantastic shot by Gerrard! 5-0 and he is getting substituted for scoring a hat trick!
-
4-0 Gerrard! It is a rout now.
-
Finally Sami gets his goal! 3rd time lucky! Should have scored at Boro, much deserved. 3-0
-
Crouch is gonna have a sore a*** in the morning.
-
Riise, WHY WHY does Rafa pick him, shooting from 30 or 40 yards and it is miles away, he does it every game, so annoying. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS....Gerrard!!! 2-0
-
Better wing play from Pennant but yet again our final ball is letting us down, this time Babel.
-
FINALLY!! 1-0 Babel, clinical finish. Right on the Half Time whistle. Hutchinson has been the best player on the pitch. Though our final ball on the whole still needs to improve.
-
These officials are a complete joke, that is now three decisions they've totally got wrong.
-
Very little has happened the past 10mins, we've lost our way and become very sloppy. Luton are increasing in confidence all the time and they may get to half time with the scoreline at 0-0.
