Babel worked hard but no end product and for a winger I kind of expect more creation like we get from Yossi.
-
Lucas played well. Unsure which you game you just watched! I´d be more for berating Johnson for a shockingly bad non-challenge which lead to the goal. Aren´t defenders supposed to be goal side!
-
Co-commentator just said Gerrard went MIA in 2nd half. Have to agree. Our bench was shockingly poor which is probably more the reason we lost. When we needed to replace tired legs we either have inexperience or rubbish.
-
Very very poor. Anon performances from everyone apart from Reina. Johnson decided to put in one of his worst performances! Tough game next week with Aguero back. Concede 1 need 3. Very difficult with our front line! If we perform like that next week we can wave goodbye to Hamburg.

Aguero is back for Anfield!

Great save!

Can´t Mascher pass to a player in black or what???????
-
Why take Lucas off when he´s playing well! Shackles off and gung-ho could back fire as AM are a good counter attacking team and then we could be left with a big up hill game at Anfield! But I agree we need more attacking ideas. Perhaps Kuyt up front with Babel on the right!

Huh? Did you see or watch the WHU game on Monday?
-
We´re won 3 nil and people are slating Rafa just for not bringin on Aqua. Pathetic!
-
YES. Ngog s**** is he? 2 nil
-
Getting peeved with the WHu fans booing Benni whenever he´s on the ball!
-
Hold on! Am I getting this wrong? Isn´t everyone always slagging SKY for being anti Liverpool? Now we have channel 5 showing the game and everyone now seems to be saying how shockingly awful they are and SKY should be showing it! Anyhow, for my tuppence worth I like Graham Taylor as a co-commentator. He´s hilarious. Got to be the best around.

I agree. Rafa needs to drop/rest him. At least with the Benfica game on Thursday it looks like no other option but to put Carra at LB and have Agger and the Greek in the middle. If we play well at the back Rafa may use it for more games, but he needs a rest and time to get his confidence back and he´ll come good IMO.
-
Are you basing this just on his poor performances of late, due to his young age, too many games played this season and obvious lack of confidence, or do you actually base your opinion on the fact you seriously doubt even though he lacks a little pace whether he could overcome this by improving his positioning and match reading with the right coaching and guidance? Sorry just after clarify like as I detest posters who just slate players just for the sake of it.

Seriously why do our players need motivating for a game of football be it Real Madrid or Wigan? They´re playing in front of thousands of people and millions when on the box, they´re playing for Liverpool and they´re earning loads of money doing something they love. I´m disallusioned!

Unfortunately nor do I as I now live in another country and neither was I looking for a slanging match, however, even though I appreciate your points, and this is not directed at you, I do get hacked off with people who have their whippin boys, be they Insua, Lucas or Ngog, without given the players a chance and without looking at the bigger picture of the game itself or even the season! For example, Insua isn´t as bad as some of the posters have deemed him to be, he´s still young and IMO he´s played too many games this season, his confidence looks shot which is why his performances of late have been awful. A different perspective don´t you think? Going back to Ngog, I must admit I hadn´t the impression he was a lazy player, but Torres did looked knackered and wasn´t playing well. Ngog and Babel were brought off the bench and we looked fresher and player better football. A gamble taken and one failed, however, taken into consideration Torres´s performance I don´t beleive the decision was as awful and shocking as people keep making it out to be! Perhaps a bigger gamble would have been to leave him on, still end up with a draw and have him injured as he got one kick too many! But, it´s all hypothetical we just don´t know at the end of the day. We drew which isn´t good enough but we are still in with a shout, a small one granted but still one all the same. Football, is a pain in the rear end sometimes with its ups and downs, but thats why we love it. Already this season we have seen many surprises so what not another one? With regards to Rafa, I have to admit of being in the camp where I reckon he should be given one more season. Realistically, who else would be an improvement and would accept working with the constant restrictions? I for one have no idea even though I did offer in a different thread the name of Roy Hodgson, but even I don´t really know whether he would be an improvement.

Sorry but I assumed you had already written Ngog off without giving the boy a chance! Was I wrong in my assumption? If not my statement still stands. Have you watched the games this season? If so, please kindly tell me where gerrard has mostly played, as I thought it was as a forward player rather than as a midfielder. In any case, Gerrard is renowned for his scoring abilities and has so far scored only 6, of which 2 were pens weren't they? One of which created by Ngog! Ok, I know he dived, but he still earnt it! He has come in at difficult times this season and done well, hence, IMO he should be given a chance rather than a slagging off. He has missed chances but also as I have stated so did Maxi, as has Torres and as will every damn pro footballer. Owen and Fowler were of a different class, if they didn´t come through the ranks we would have had to pay serious amounts of cash for these boys. Unfortunately we don´t have the cash to bring someone in at this class nor do we yet have someone in the same class from the ranks so please lets put this into perspective. Like I said, he deserves a chance.
-
He´s scored 4 so far this season in the league compared to Gerrards 6! Can´t hit a barn door with a banjo?? Erm. How about his composed finish against Manure? Sure he´s missed good chances but so have every striker. I obviously, unlike you, prefer to give most players a chance.
-
Sorry, but I thought the talent in our squad was being questioned by all and sundry! Insua, Lucas, Ngog, etc, etc! How comes they´re bloody awful one minute and suddenly they´re talented players who are a bunch of underachievers?
-
Any chance of Wenger coming to us next season?
-
The planet where points are still to play for and we are mathetically able to claim the position. Isn´t that why people follow football for the ups, downs and sometimes its unpredictability? BTW, thanks for the "kid" remark for someone my age.

Unbelieveable! Naturally from comments made we obviously have ready made managers in our own forum so no problem for next season!!!!!!!!! Hindsight is wonderful, however, unfortunately none of us possess the ability to see what will definately happen in a match after a tatical change or subsitution! Torres was playin awful. The posters who are criticising the change have absolutely no idea we´d have won the game if Torres was kept on the pitch. I am sure you will try and persuade everyone and yourselves we would have had more chance but at the end of the day you simply do NOT know! After being kicked to pieces on Thursday he didn´t to me look up for another game with the same sort of punishment and no protection. The sub was a surprise but understandable considering his performance. Ngog DID improve our game as did Babel. Ngog shold have scored, but so should have Maxi in the 1st half. Torres has missed chances in the past and will continue to do so as will EVERY player so please STOP trying to find bloody scape goats. It´s pathetic! Is everyones glass half empty? Today was disappointing and we still have a chance of 4th place so quit the slaggin off and get behind the team.

Sorry if I misjudged the thread, but my original post was about giving him a chance, hence, my acclimatisation reply as I felt a few people were getting on his back. I am like most people frustrated by the number of injuries and virus´s he has continually picked up but I still reckon he deserves a chance to prove the doubters out there wrong. I do agree with you we don´t really have room in the squad for a 20m bit part player but instead of cutting out losses shouldn´t we instead see what he has to offer as a few of the games he´s played he showed his potential of class. Why not persist for slightly longer?
