"Invision Communities" app in Google Play/Apple App Store

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have seen an "Invision Communities" application appear on Google Play recently. The app is developed by the company who develop the software on which this site runs, and is an alternative to the hideous Tapatalk software which I've resisted making available for this site.

For a site to be accessible from this new app, it is required that the site be running Invision Community 4.5 (which is currently in beta testing) - at present, YNWA is not running Invision Community 4.5 but the site will be upgraded to this version not long after release.

When the site has been updated to Invision Community 4.5, and has been submitted to Invision for inclusion in the app, I will update this post to reflect that.

Note: An iOS version of the application is currently in beta testing.

IPS have released v4.5 of their software - they are now up to v4.5.1 but I have now have no plans to update the site to 4.5.x for a while as they've hit some really stupid issues with their upgrade routine today.

As such, the official app from them will still not be supported on here until a later point.

This site is now running IPS 4.5.2 - the next step is for me to submit a request to IPS to list the site in their application, which I will do over the next few days.

The site has now been approved to be listed in the IPS 'Communities' application - the app can be download from Google Play and you can use the search functionality of the app to find this site and add it.

Don't be too excited about the app though - it's very basic at the moment, no site branding. If you have any issues with it then feel free to post them in the Feedback forum, but I am limited as to what I can help you with (login, basically)

What about iOS? App is still in beta, and I can't be arsed going through the process of getting invitations set up for that. Therefore you have to wait until the app is released publicly.

Anyone who has bothered getting hold of the app, you should uninstall it - IPS aren't going to be continuing development on it, and the next version of the site software will result in it breaking anyway.
