How do I embed content from another site?

The upgrade software has the ability to use a feature called 'oembed' to automatically embed content from this site as well as other sites, such as Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and so on. To use this feature, simply paste a valid URL for the content in to a post - do not create a link, or copy an existing link.
 
What is a valid URL? It's the plain text information that is in the address bar of the browser.
What is a link? This is a link.
 
If the source website supports oembed, and the IPS software supports that website, then the content will be embedded.
 
Some examples are as follows

The url https://www.ynwa.tv/topic/162539-20192020/?do=findComment&comment=4458479 will produce:

The url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO1dlHMmywU will produce:

Some known issues with this functionality:

Twitter t.co links do not embed

This is because Twitter do not provide oembed functionality for their t.co links. To resolve this, don't use t.co links, and instead link the full twitter.com URL

Twitter links don't display correctly when embedded

This issue may also affect the viewing of embeds from other sites.

Between Thursday 25th and Monday 29th June, I put in place a modification which allowed pretty much any URL from a website to be embedded (if the forum software didn't already support it) as an experiment to determine how useful it would be - this used a 3rd-party website allowing 1,000 hits a month before a cost was incurred.

Between those dates a total of 48 URLs were posted which were handled by this modification, amounting to a total of 521 hits on the developer account - as such, I've disabled the modification now because the number of hits in a month will be over 1,000. At that point, a charge per month will be incurred and I'm not willing to cover that cost at this time (when I look into putting YNWA Sponsorship back in place, I'll look into the options at that time)

In the meantime, I am listing some of the URLs which were linked during that time as some of them are related to the League win:
