Can't help but think they've f***ed the ticket price strategy up.

For any cat A team the cheapest adult ticket regardless of stadium is 50 quid.

Given they're using the likes of Wembley where they could pack it out the way Saracens do with accessible prices the RFU are coming across as mercenary as well as f***ing stupid. They must be pretty damn sure the corporate tickets and tourist mobs will be paying out as many punters I know won't.

Is £50 to watch a category A team in the World Cup (in any sport) that mercenary?

And is it the RFU responsible for ticketing/pricing?

Who are the cat A teams, just England, Ireland and Wales?

Top 6 N Hemisphere, Big 3 and Argentina from the South I think.

I'd say it's mercenary - they'd stand a better chance of making their target by opening the game up. The stadia are massive - they'd guarantee a full house by charging reasonable prices rather than FIFA rates.

I doubt they'll do that for NZ vs Namibia by charging 50 notes for the cheapest ticket.

Strikes me as not what's best for the game but what's best for RFU accountants and reckon they've f***ed up. Maybe demand will be huge but I doubt it whereas Sarries have shown how to generate interest and a good atmosphere.

Argies one level back on pricing schedule.

Argues one level back.

Some South Africa, Australia and Argentina matches have tickets on sale starting at £15 or £20.

The ticketing website is extremely busy and seeing as it's not first come first served, that'd suggest huge interest.

Tickets are already all over the re-seller (tout) sites ... presumably from the pre-sales that have already taken place.

I've been in the queue now for 30 minutes, and no obvious movement - I know there's no rush to get the application in, it's just I'll forget if I don't do it right away!

I've got a ticket already for the England Wales game at Twickenham - trying to get a few for the other venues now through the ballot.
