Again, congrats on this achievement and the fantastic media reporting of it such as this:

The Spirit of Shankly, a group of fans committed to the removal of Hicks Sr and Gillett, had called for Hicks Jr to resign on Sunday.

 

They were also critical of the club's hierarchy for remaining silent on the issue.

 

Co-owners Hicks Sr and Gillett have endured a difficult time at Liverpool since taking over at Anfield in March 2007.

 

Supporters have regularly voiced their dissatisfaction at the level of debt taken on by the club after the buy-out by the American duo.

Sadly, The Guardian's Fiver has - not without precedent - decided instead to raise again (and provide links to) the 'Munich' song fiasco at the End-Of-Season bash to accuse the SoS of hypocrisy in referrring to standards of behaviour.

 

Sadly for 2 reasons - firstly, that The Fiver takes it's 'satirical and edgy' stance rather too seriously once again, wilfully ignoring the issue relating to owners such as Hicks and their contempt for fans, whether they be from favoured or maligned clubs; secondly that SoS, for whatever reason, did not effectively deal with that huge PR c*ck-up at the time.

 

Overall though, reporting has been positive, and SoS is to be congratulated for how they have managed it.
