attempted coup underway in thailand

mad this is, bangkok is under siege from the PAD, the people's alliance for democracy, attempting to overthrow the current government. they've invaded and blockaded the state TV broadcaster NBT and taken it off air, have stormed government house and are demanding the overthrow of prime minister samak and his cabinet (bunch of thaksin stooges). at the moment it's relatively peaceful but could all kick off if the army wades in later today. the king has yet to make a statement about it and it doesn't seem to be getting coverage in the western news outlets yet either.
