Sound on my laptop has gone

It's been on most of the day. Wanted to watch an episode of Entourage and, no joke, it took about 5 or 6 hours to buffer, so I just left it on in my bedroom.

 

Watched the episode there with headphones on and the sound was fine (and still is when they're in)

 

Took out the headphones and it's completely gone.

 

Does that mean the speakers have gone?

 

Haven't been messing about with any settings.
