Adobe problems in Vista

After a few weeks of steadily increasing problems with Internet Explorer, I have found the problem to be Adobe Flash active X thingy.

It was getting to the stage that every second web page was freezing making surfing the net impossible.

After disabling all add-ons and trying to browse and it working it was not untill I tried Youtube(to look at that sexy teacher in the ad ) it was asking me to install the add-on, hey presto after trying to do it the old problem came back, the annoying little fecker is gone now but now I need an alternative???

Do the good patrons of YNWA have any ideas, apart from the usual reinstall of java and hitting it with a hammer(already tried them )
