Explain something to me...

 

I have a server with 2 NICs, running 2 virtual machines.

 

I have configured the virtual machines (no mean feat because I have f*** all idea what I'm doing) so that it has an internal network (using the loopback adaptor) and an external network (this will be the interface that is plugged into the switches)

 

How does the network traffic work on the virtual external nics on the VMs? Exactly the same?

 

Will I need to adjust firewalls etc for the Virtual nics IP address, or the physical NICs IP, or both?
