Firefox Help Please!

Can anybody help me with a problem I have encountered?

 

I am trying to set up a photo album on "Facebook." To do so, Facebook is trying to send me a Java applet (whatever that might be) but the system just "hangs," and I have to end the task with Task Manager.

 

I am totally out of my depth here - I have found the Java console and tried to change from Internet Explorer to Mozilla, but that doesn't seem to work. I have also amended the security settings of Firefox to allow Facebook.com to download applets etc. but that hasn't worked either.

 

Any suggestions? Thanking you in advance.
