Have recently been for testing with regard to a recurring infection that I have been getting since childhood. Went to discuss results yesterday and was told that I have multiple scarring on one kidney, at the top of it, and at the bottom there is fullness and enlargement. He could not describe it any other way except that it is larger at the bottom and scarred at the top. He says it is this renal scarring and kidney fullness that is causing my repeated infections because it is possibly causing obstructions. Have been sent for something called an IVU which should happen in five, six weeks.

How does one get renal scarring and how does one fix the problem so that repeated infections stop?

He hardly explained himself, to be honest. I was just curious.
