Road Tax

Just been down to the Post Office to get my tax disc, starting from tomorrow, only to find that my certificate of insurance has got the wrong registration plate number on it - so I can't get it taxed yet.

I've been onto the Insurance company and they're gonna send me a new certificate out.

 

But, are the DVLA likely to get onto the fact I haven't renewed my road tax in the 3-5 days before I can get a tax disc - and fine me?

 

If so, should I call them and explain what's happened - or would that be foolish?

 

Anyone ever been in a similar situation????
