Scooter Libby jail term commuted

Can't find a link yet, but just heard it on the news.

 

 

Apparently, the feeling is that his crime of purgery and attempting to pervert the course of justice isn't really too serious, and he's sorry about what he's done. So no need for him to be treated as anyone else would be.

 

Bush said the prison sentence given (30 months of which he would have served what? 8 months?) was excessive, but he's left with a harsh punishment anyway (because he's on probation in case he perverts the course of justice again. And the poor lamb will no longer be able to practice as a lawyer.
