Bridge to Terabithia

Went to see it this afternoon as Mrs K had seen the previews and thought it was some kind of kids fantasy adventure a la Narnia.

 

Couldn't be more frickin' wrong.

 

What you get is a mess of a movie which deals with the trauma of bullying, friends dying, parental pressures, boyhood crushes and the power of imagination.

 

All the actors are great, but the director clearly didn't know what to do with the story or how to unify the different strands. And billing it as a kids' film is just f***in' wrong

 

Zooey Deschanel is fantastic though. I think I'm in love...
