After reaching the UEFA final Sevilla managed to get to their first Kings' Cup final in 45 years after beating Deportivo 2-0 last night in the return leg. Overall score was 5-0.

Chevaton's goal (Sevilla's 2nd of the night) is absolutely fantastic - the defender will be having nightmares about it for the rest of his career.

Barragán cam on late for Depro and nearly scored.

Nobody over here, even los Beticos, can continue denying that Sevilla are one of the best teams in Europe.

Alves also played last night - he has only missed two games this season in la Liga, King's Cup and UEFA.

No. That was a minor glitch.

The club knew it would be an extremely difficult game to win.

Even though we lost our goal average is better. So if we finish with the same points as Madrid we will be above them. That has to be taken into account.

The coach has always stated that the home games against Recre (saturday 22.00 CET) and Zaragoza were more important for the club than the away game at Santiago Bernabeau.

Madrid will drop points.

I guess Alves has been RB most of this season but just how good a RW would he be ?

to be honest I dont see much of a goal threat in him, lost of good running but so far whilst more exciting to watch than Pennant he doesnt look more effective at RW than Pennant.

Obviously he would work well with Gerrard if he played RB but often I would expect him to play RW at Liverpool

he's played ahead of hinkel a few times in europe certainly.

the rest of your post is fair comment. think he probably gets into more clear goal scoring positions than pennant, strangely. can't say he's a reliable finisher though. think he's more physical than pennant, might be a touch quicker, better defender, more of an engine, and more quality at set-pieces.

i like alves, but without one of our other right-sided players going, it would seem like one player too many for that flank.
