Funky 16 Corners Radio is probably my single favourite soul music blog. It specialises in 'radio shows' dedicated to particular themes, labels or regions. A second show devoted to New Orleans has just been 'released' (the first is also excellent). There are no big hits but if you have even the vaguest interest in NOLA's musical heritage then you should give it a listen. Almost all the tunes comes from original 45s and the static adds something to each of the tunes. The accompanying article, like just about everything published on the site, is really well researched and written.
