Went to bed about 11.30 the last two nights

read for half an hour or so and both nights, the minute I have then dropped off, I have been woken by an owl screeching its head off. Weird. Not heard one for years.

 

The noise the owl was making seemed to set off the ducks on the canal who were quacking like mad for about half an hour aftewards.
