Rafa, Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger......all pleading with international managers to spare their players for international friendlies. But the bitters......oh, no.....they just feel compelled to complain no matter what. Imagine if Johnson had played and aggravated his injury...of course they wouldn't have been bitter about that at all.

It seems to be in their blood to complain about everything.

Johnson will start for Everton against Blackburn on Saturday

Everton have accused England of blundering over Andy Johnson's ankle injury ahead of the international with Spain on Wednesday.

The striker was tipped to start the friendly at Old Trafford in a 4-3-3 formation, but was sent home after being assessed by physio Gary Lewin.

However, Toffees assistant manager Alan Irvine insists Johnson was fit to play.

"Andy reported for duty feeling an ankle problem, but he didn't rule himself out and is fit now," he said.

"Although he could not train at the start of the week, he told them he would be all right for the game.

He is fine for the game against Blackburn on Saturday and all I can say is we were glad to have him back

"But the reply was that he might as well return to his club for treatment.

The decision left manager Steve McClaren with only two fit strikers in his squad in Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch, and meant Shaun Wright-Phillips was drafted into the starting line-up.

However, the absence of Johnson - who has scored nine goals for Everton this season - was all the more surprising given that England's Manchester United and Tottenham players all missed training on Monday after playing on Sunday.

McClaren has come under increasing pressure after a lacklustre start to his time as England manager, though Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson have come to his defence.

Small boys always trying to make big noise

What next, complaining about a bloke in the pub callling them bitter?

True. And I kind of forgot when I posted the OP that small clubs always like their players to get a run in the international teams...heightens their profile a wee bit :D

You lot like looking for stuff that makes us seem bitter.

You do make me laugh, but I'm a "small team" fan and my knowledge of everything in the world ever is nothing compared to the inferior beings that are the "BIG CLUB".

I felt so helpless, HELP, HELP, HELPPPPPPPP.
