Whatever happened to pass and move

Just taken this from another forum, i've been saying this for a long time now and i can't agree more with the below.

"Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple." ? Bill Shankly.

Having been and watched Arsenal tonight and Saturday we can't hide from the fact that they played bloody awsome football and why because they pass and move, nothing is in the air. Even Man Utd the way they play is simple, pass and move, its good to watch and its the way to do it.

We rely to much on the ball up in the air and because of it we lose possesion too easily.

We can pass and move, remember the Villa game earlier on in the season, the way we passed and moved was fantastic, even their players made commented on how good we were. We have the players to do it so why can't we do it all the time?

Some players in our team do too much, instead of doing the simple thing they try and take on the world. Crouch, Pennant, Garcia, Bellamy, are extremely guilty of it.

Pass and move is what makes football and it needs to return to our club, its been missing for too long, we are ment to be the club who are historically known for it, lets get it back.

RPAM (Reclaim Pass And Move) thats what I say.

we've played plenty of pass and move this season, particularly at home.

Really, this match isn't a reflection of the team's standing or our season so far (although that has also been poor). Drawing out all kind of explanations is just over-analyzing.

The simple answer is: our youngsters are s*** compared to Arsenal's and our backup keeper has turned truly w*** this week.

Come the next premiership game and it will be a different story.

Oh we can certainly do it when we are given the run of Anfield but it's when the sh*t hits the fan and you've got to pull something out.. where do things go from there.

I genuinely wonder what Rafa says to them after it decends into sloppy long balling because there is no way he could be happy with that.I'm sure he would be fuming to himself when that goes on.

I'd guess privately he would say we just don't have the players to do it and thats that, even though we would think we do and should be winning the league (myself included).

Our tactics have been dogs a*** lately.

We swapped it with Arsenal's and sold it to the devil over 10 years ago, we're still trying to buy it back

I'd say we swapped it with Man U's

Ferguson ripped off our style more than Wenger has. Arsenal have a new style and thats credit to them. They, Bolton and Chelsea have pushed the athletic side of the game farther than any club in world football. I'm not saying its always succesful or necessarily what we should aim for but we seem to retain a player like Hyppia, Fowler and Kewell and then go and f***ing RELY on them when you know they can't cope with the physical strains. Then we fall short of the league challenge and you get fans saying " well next year kewell will stay fit and we'll deffo win the league" or "Hyppia is still one of the best defenders in Europe"

we just need to raise our sights.
