Zoo shift

No Will, this is not some obscure group you've never heard of. :bleh:

Today was my last time in charge of the Zoo Shift. Due to miss-management and cowardice by my superiors  I now have to be in charge of another shift from next week.

I've spent 8 years on this shift starting out as an operator culminating in the being the Shift Leader for the last 2 years. There's 5 of us on the shift, all fellas, all mad about sport especially football and we all got on well. One of the fellas is a really good friend I've known for over 20 years and worked with him for a previous firm.

The Zoo Shift got it's name because we are all f***in animals, especially after the Friday night curry or the morning after a session. We burped and farted when we liked because it was a competition to see who was the loudest and the smelliest.

It was funny because we never knew we were called the Zoo Shift by everyone else because they were scared of how we would react, but when we found out we were all made up and promptly stuck pictures of different animals over our faces on our works passes. I had a lion, one lad had a giraffe (because he uses the "I'm a giraffe keeper at Knowsley Safari Park" to chat up women), another had a silverback gorilla because he has massive forearms, and the Welsh lad had a sheep :D. The final member who was seconded to another section had a merecat because he was always pearing over his pc to see what was going on.

We work 12 hour days and nights and saw more of each other than we did of our families (as shift workers will no doubt find familiar), sometimes though, that can be a blessing more often than not.

It's going to seem strange not seeing the same faces in work each day, and I'm going to miss it because this new shift are basically a bunch of two-faced, conniving c**** who would sell their granny if they thought it would give them some kind of edge, and also they are as thick as pig-s*** as well. It's going to be very hard to keep my cool with them, I am not looking forward to the next few months what-so-ever.
